Funders beware! Pro-Hamas Legal Aid union spews antisemitism loud and proud
Yet another powerful New York group has blared out its antisemitism loud and proud: This time it’s the union repping employees of nonprofits like the Legal Aid Society, Bronx Defenders and the Center for Reproductive Rights.
In defiance of the Legal Aid Society’s policy around geopolitical neutrality, the Association of Legal Aid Attorneys (UAW Local 2325) passed a resolution calling for “an end to Israeli apartheid and the occupation.”
It also opposes all US aid and backs the boycott, divestment and sanctions movement, a hotbed of Jew-hatred.
The resolution did not condemn Hamas for its terrorist atrocities of Oct. 7, referring to them only as a “violent tragedy.”
Indeed, such deliberately obfuscatory language signals clear approval of Hamas butchery, cloaked in smirking equivocation.
And don’t take our word for it: The Legal Aid Society itself, long a bastion of lefty progressivism, called out the resolution as “laden with coded antisemitic language and thinly veiled calls for the destruction of the State of Israel.”
Like a reference to the “ethnic cleansing and dispossession of the Palestinian people that has been ongoing since the Nakba in 1948 and the Balfour Declaration in 1917.”
And an endorsement of the blatant falsehood that Israel “maintains a colonial apartheid occupation regime against the Palestinian people.”
All that’s a far cry from Legal Aid’s stated mission of being “a beacon of hope for New Yorkers” “regardless of who they are, where they come from, or how they identify.”

Indeed, the vote by its employees screams to the rooftops Jews not welcome.
Yes, Legal Aid slammed the resolution, but the hate endorsed by its workforce should be a red flag for all its donors and allies, including corporate giants like the NFL, NBA, Microsoft and AIG.
To say nothing of the millions Legal Aid gets from taxpayers.
That cash needs to be directed to another indigent defense provider: New Yorkers shouldn’t be compelled to subsidize gestures of sympathy toward psychotic Islamist murderers and badly concealed antisemitism.
Above all, we have to ask: Why?
Why on Earth would a public defenders union feel the need to wade into the Israel-Hamas war, and on the wrong side to boot?
Because for the woke left, it’s all one: You can’t be a lawyer for the marginalized without also backing pro-Hamas thugs.
Progressivism? More like endless moral confusion.
