Woman raped during violent Brooklyn robbery reveals she hasn’t slept since attack, wants ‘bad guy’ brought to justice
A woman who was raped during an armed robbery in Brooklyn over the weekend described how she was also hit and choked during the nightmare ordeal — which has left her unable to sleep.
The 49-year-old victim, who does not speak English and did not want her face shown or her voice heard, told PIX11 that she wants the “bad guy” who brutally sexually assaulted her brought to justice.
“I had not rested for 24 hours — not at all, on any day since because I could not calm down, and now I am slowly adjusting,” the woman told the station in Chinese through a translation app.
“I think I may see a psychiatrist next.”
The rape survivor recounted how she and her two female co-workers were at an unnamed business near 9th Avenue and 59th Street around 6 p.m. Saturday, when a pair of robbers forced their way through the outer door.
The victim said she had tried to put up a fight, but one of the intruders violently attacked her.
“When I opened the door, the bad guy hit me in the face very hard. I was afraid of hurting the other two girls, so I opened the door for him,” she said.
The 49-year-old woman said the man also choked her before he and his accomplice swiped $300 in cash from the business.
The accomplice then held the two other workers at knifepoint and told them to be quiet while the woman was raped, she said.
After the bandits ran off with their loot, the victim was taken to an area hospital in stable condition.
The woman said she has been working with the NYPD’s sex crimes investigators to help bring her assailant to account.
“What I want to express is that I very much hope to catch this bad guy,” she said.
Surveillance photos of the two suspects previously released by the NYPD show one wearing a hoodie with light-colored pants and the other with black pants, a white coat and a wool hat.
Both are described as being in their 30s and are 5 feet 9 to 6 feet tall.
