Bodybuilder paramedic barred from administering certain drugs after being charged with possession of steroids, cocaine
An Australian paramedic and bodybuilder facing multiple charges of possessing steroids and cocaine is facing strict new rules imposed by the health regulator.
Marlette Le-Feuvre has had her registration as a paramedic in Queensland’s Ambulance Service (QAS) restricted by the Office of Health Ombudsman (OHO) pending the resolution of a raft of drug charges.
Police have charged the 31-year-old with six counts of possessing dangerous drugs, and one each of buying or possessing hazardous medicines or poisons, failing to properly dispose of a needle or syringe, and possessing anything used in the commission of a crime.
She is yet to enter pleas in court.
In response to the charges and pending the result, the OHO has banned her from possessing, supplying, administering, handling, dispensing, accessing or checking monitored medicine including pain medication such as opioids, amphetamines and psychostimulants, benzodiazepines and all codeine-containing products.
These include drugs used as “emergency treatment supplies” or those in a “response/drug kit”.
QAS said Ms Le-Feuvre was “currently suspended from duty” and the health ombudsman had not given her approval to practice at any practice location.
She will have to get permission from the OHO if she wishes to work as a paramedic while the conditions are on foot and will not be able to be the most senior or only paramedic on duty.
Ms. Le-Feuvre is a competitive bodybuilder who has participated in competitions overseas, including in Miami, Los Angeles and Las Vegas.
The 31-year-old represented Australia at the Caribbean Grand Prix bodybuilding competition in the Bahamas in November as well as at the Amateur Olympia competition in Orlando, where she placed sixth.
“Extremely proud to represent Australia as an Amateur,” she wrote on Instagram after the Olympia competition.
She has 23,400 followers on Instagram and is sponsored by supplement company International Protein and gym clothing brand Muscle Republic among other companies.
The fitness influencer has continued to share her life online despite the charges, declaring “I fkn love my life” just before New Year’s Eve.
