The NFL playoffs may be in full swing, but it’s prime baseball futures betting season.
FanDuel Sportsbook recently released early odds for 2024’s MLB awards winners.
And there are a couple of names familiar to New Yorkers at the top of the American League MVP odds board: Aaron Judge and Juan Soto.
Judge and Soto are the top two candidates to win the award, according to FanDuel, sitting at +550 and +600 respectively.
The two are the only players with odds better than 8/1, just ahead of Rangers shortstop Corey Seager (+800) and Astros outfielder Yordan Alvarez (+900).
Two of the premier hitters of the past half-decade, Judge and Soto will join forces in the middle of the Bronx Bombers’ lineup this season, forming one of the best one-two punches.
Judge followed up his historic MVP 2022 season with another excellent campaign, despite dealing with a toe injury that kept him out for roughly two months.
He hit 37 home runs in just 106 games with a 1.019 OPS.

Soto is coming off his own dominant season.
The left-handed slugger played in all 162 of the Padres’ games, leading the majors in walks (132) while winning a Silver Slugger and finishing sixth in the National League MVP voting.
Soto has finished in the top 10 of the NL MVP voting four times over his six-year career but has yet to win the award.
If either of them wants to win the 2024 AL MVP, the Yankees will need to finish the season much better as a team.
The Yankees finished 82-80 in 2023, missing the playoffs for the first time since 2016.
It was their worst record since the 1992 season when they finished 76-86.

After the additions of Soto, Alex Verdugo and Marcus Stroman, oddsmakers are expecting a bounce-back season from the Pinstripes.
Pegged at 93.5 wins, the Yankees currently have the highest preseason win total in the AL and third-highest in the majors behind the Dodgers (104.5) and Braves (100.5).
They also have the third-shortest odds to win the World Series (+800) and shortest odds to win the AL (+410).
