Plumber finds 20 bones while digging under bathroom: ‘Never seen anything like it’

Sow weird.

A UK plumber was stunned to discover over 20 bones hidden underneath the floorboards of the bathroom he was fixing this month.

Jonathan Betts, 36, was working on a cottage that is over 200 years old, SWNS reports. He shared his sinister find in a terrifying TikTok that has scored 1.4 million views since it was posted on Jan. 6.

“After I removed the toilet and floor covering, I found that [the] subflooring below was massively rotten,” explained Betts, who runs JB Plumbing in Plymouth, Devon.

“I made the customers aware, who have been on holiday, that I will need to dig out the soil,” he continued.

Betts said he doesn’t typically work weekends — but he pressed on, working his fingers to the bone.

“As you can imagine I started to stress out, especially when I found a jaw bone with teeth!” he exclaimed.

“In the back of my mind I knew it was an animal as the teeth didn’t look like ours, but I was still sketching out as I really did not want this job to be shut down!” he added.

Betts stumbled upon a second part of the jawbone among 20 other bones.

He laid out the remains before his 600 followers in a follow-up TikTok.

He initially said he “kind of” hoped it was the bones of a dog.

After conducting a Google search and consulting fellow tradesmen, Betts made the most important discovery — the bones were from a pig, not a human.

And so they went back into the ground.

“The bones have placed back under the floor when we found out that back in the day people buried them to ward off bad spirits,” Betts noted.

“After speaking with the owners of the home, they informed me that the house opposite used to be a pig farm and they think the barn attached to their property was in fact a slaughterhouse,” he said.

He shared the update in a Jan. 7 TikTok, hollering, “It’s not a human! Yes!”

“At least you solved the mystery bones,” one commenter cheered.

“Should of phoned the police they would of done the digging for you and you wouldn’t of had to pay them,” another argued.

“Lol the celebration for pig bones,” a third laughed.

“Let’s just say it’s not every day you’re at work and find a pile of bones under a bathroom floor,” Betts said upon reflection.

“I have been in the industry for over 20 years — and I’ve never seen anything like it before,” he added.
