It turned into a whole different kind of show.
Comedian Natasha Leggero shocked several comedy clubgoers on Wednesday after she ripped her shirt off at the beginning of her set and proclaimed: “If the boys can do it, why can’t the girls?”
According to TMZ, the act was in response to fellow funnyman Bert Kreischer, who did a set that involved him ripping off his top.
Leggero, 49, then took the stage dressed in a white, furry coat over denim overalls and proceeded to strip while throwing her coat into the crowd.
The striptease elicited screams and applause from the stunned crowd.
“Holy s – – t,” Kreischer, 51, yelled from the crowd before jokingly adding that he would have to start taking his pants off in order to beat Leggero’s move.
“Oh my god. The f – – king best,” joked Kreischer.
Following the shocking moment, Leggero retrieved her coat before continuing her set.
The Post reached out to Leggero for comment.
Leggero later posted several photos from the eyebrow-raising moment on her Instagram.
“Bert took his shirt off so I did too,” the “Brickleberry” alum wrote in the carousel’s caption. “Improv said not to post but TMZ already did so f it.”
“Should female comics be able to do the same things as male comics?” Leggero continued. “Because I’ve also been thinking about trying to f – – k my opener.”
Several social media users praised Leggero for her naked ambition to pursue equity in the workplace.
“Funny way to propose, but yes,” wrote “The Marvelous Mrs. Masiel” star Rachel Brosnahan.
“This is performance art and I am here for it,” wrote a second fan.
“Not all heroes wear capes. Or shirts,” a third person commented.
In a separate post, Leggero posted several higher-resolution pictures that showed both her and Kreischer topless with a black bar over their chests.
“Queen,” wrote fellow comedian Sarah Silverman.
“ICONIC,” a second person stated.
“This is an iconic moment in comedy,” a third person penned, before adding: “Lenny Bruce getting arrested, Eddie Murphy in red leather, This is up there.”
“This is an excellent update,” Chelsea Handler joked.
Kreischer also commented on the photo with a simple goat emoji, letting Leggero know that the stunt was the greatest of all time.
Despite the general outpouring of love, others didn’t seem as pleased with the stunt.
“What people will do for attention for free is beyond my comprehension,” one fan slammed.
“Too bad IG would punish you if you posted yours uncensored but posting his is completely fine,” a second person observed.
