NFL Network’s Peter Schrager is also a budding picks guru, having now correctly predicted the Super Bowl winner in five consecutive seasons.
The Kansas City Chiefs downed the 49ers in Super Bowl 2024, as predicted by Schrager just before the start of the NFL season.
“Annual tradition, 30 minutes before Week 1 kicks off…Super Bowl pick: Chiefs over 49ers,” Schrager tweeted on Sept. 7, just before the Chiefs’ loss to the Lions.
Pretty soon, the sportsbooks are going to start knocking on his door, like they did LeBron James when he began doing NFL picks on his Instagram Live.
James recently announced a deal with DraftKings, while even NBA insider Shams Charania has a deal with FanDuel.
Whether he is even allowed to do that as a member of the NFL media and employed by the NFL Network is probably the key to it, but his preseason Super Bowl pick has now gained tons of steam in the betting world.
Schrager has now predicted each of the last three Chiefs’ titles, along with the Rams and Buccaneers’ victories.
“I’m just gonna bet my life savings on whoever you pick next season,” X user @FootballDude77 said in a post on X to Schrager. “Don’t do that,” Schrager replied.
If Schrager he rolled over his five Super Bowl picks into bets starting in Sept. 2019 and going through Sept. 2023, he would have made a ton of money.
Starting with the Chiefs’ victory in 2020 with a $100 bet, Schrager would’ve profited $600, turning that money into $700, and then the big win on Tom Brady’s Buccaneers at 10/1 in 2020 would’ve won him $7,000.
Two successful seasons would’ve had him at a $7,700 bet on the Rams at 12/1 in 2021, which would’ve won him $92,400, bringing his total up to $100,100.
Kansas City at 10/1 on a $100,100 bet would’ve won him $1,001,000; he now would have had $1,101,100.
If he threw the entire million on the Chiefs +600, he would have some very angry sportsbooks and a profit of $6,606,600. Mr. Schrager could’ve been a millionaire, having grown the old gambling account from $100 to $7,707,700 in just five years.

Now, this isn’t to say anyone would actually do this all-or-nothing strategy, and it’s far from recommended given its accruing massive amounts of risk, but it just goes to show how insanely accurate Schrager has been since 2019.
If you tailed Schrager with $100 each year, bettors would have won $4,400.
In terms of implied probability, there was a .0013 percent chance that Schrager correctly these five consecutive Super Bowl winners.
