An elite Chiefs defensive lineman is set to be a free agent this offseason, and some desperate teams are indeed lining up their checkbooks for a run-stopper’s services.
DraftKings has set odds on Chris Jones’ next team, and while they expect him to return to the Kansas City Chiefs (-175), as he drunkenly declared at the Super Bowl parade, it is far from a lock.
However, reports are stating that Jones may have jumped the gun, putting his future even further up in the air.
An extension is happening “no time soon,” reports suggested after Jones screamed “I ain’t going nowhere, baby,” at the parade.
So now we get to potential suitors, where you see the budding Houston Texans (+750) and Chicago Bears (+850) followed by the Detroit Lions (10/1).
Below are the odds for who could land the Chiefs’ prized defensive lineman.
Chris Jones next team odds
Team | Odds |
---|---|
Kansas City Chiefs | -175 |
Houston Texans | +750 |
Chicago Bears | +850 |
Detroit Lions | 10/1 |
Las Vegas Raiders | 12/1 |
Tennessee Titans | 15/1 |
Arizona Cardinals | 15/1 |
New England Patriots | 16/1 |
Indianapolis Colts | 18/1 |
Washington Commanders | 20/1 |
Kansas City Chiefs (-175)
The odds obviously are favoring a return to Kansas City, but Jones is here to make money, and even his agent leads us to believe that Jones is no more likely to be in Kansas City than any where else.
Kansas City has shown it is willing to move on from a star at a moment’s notice, and eventually, the Chiefs are going to need to save money for defenders Trent McDuffie and George Karlaftis.
If there were a “field” option to get “any other team” around +150 it would be a smash spot.
There will be many suitors ready to pony up the dough this offseason.

Houston Texans (+750)
The Texans should be all in on this one if Jones hits the free-agent market.
Forget how excellent of a player Jones is, but their defense would be a true problem if they added him.
Head coach DeMeco Ryans did a wonderful job building that unit up, allowing the second-least yards per carry in the NFL.
Having stud quarterback CJ Stroud under center in only the second year of a rookie contract is the biggest advantage that any team currently has in the NFL.
The Texans need to take advantage.
And since wide receivers Nico Collins and Tank Dell are rising stars themselves, it’s time to beef up their interiors on both sides of the ball.
