Tyronn Lue ejected after Clippers-Warriors game descends into chaos

Things got heated in the Bay Area on Wednesday night.

Early in the fourth quarter of the Clippers’ 130-125 win over the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday night, a hard foul from the Clippers’ Mason Plumlee led to both teams coming together on the court, eventually leading to the ejection of Los Angeles head coach Tyronn Lue.

Things got chippy minutes earlier when the Warriors’ Draymond Green was called for a shooting foul on Plumlee, who was driving for a layup.

Plumlee was fouled hard at the basket, and Lue appeared to ask for officials to take another look at the call, and amid an argument, Lue was issued a technical foul.

Star James Harden had to restrain his coach from going any further.

Less than a minute later, Plumlee was again going for a shot inside the paint and missed a Green defended him and appeared to bump him.

Plumlee, in a visible sign of frustration, took about three whacks with his right hand at Brandin Podziemski, who had corralled the rebound.

Podziemski fell to the ground with the ball and whistles blew as officials had to separate players from both teams from escalating things further.

But amid the fray, Lue was issued a second technical and ejected, while Plumlee was given a flagrant 1.

The Warriors’ Jonathan Kuminga was also issued a technical, which offset with Lue’s foul, but the coach was still tossed from the game.

Down by nine at the time of Lue’s ejection, the Clippers stormed back to win the game by five without their head coach on the bench.
