Rapper’s elaborate virtual marriage proposal shocks bride — because he wasn’t even there
He’s asking for a life sentence.
Securing her heart under lock and key, a lovebird jailbird put all free men to shame by popping the question to his now-fiancée via FaceTime in a lavish display made complete with ornate floral arrangements, fireworks and a violinist.
And to think — some people didn’t even get a “belated happy Valentine’s Day” text this year.
“Turned this mother f–king engagement from behind the wall,” bragged a giddy Kenyana Jones, better known as San Francisco rapper Yatta, in trending YouTube footage of his remote proposal to his bride-to-be, known online as Belly Belle, on Feb. 12.
“You ain’t seen no s–t like this,” boasted the lyricist.
Belle said “yes” to an incarcerated Jones — who’s serving a 12-year sentence in connection to a 2016 murder — and shared visuals of the elaborate big ask to a jaw-slacked audience of more than 2.6 million TikTok viewers.
“I got engaged to my best friend, my person, the love of my life, my life partner that I can’t imagine being without,” gushed the 27-year-old fiancé in a video caption of the fête. “The sleepless nights without you, the anxiety I get worrying about you, the ups [and] downs we been through, the time apart.”
“This s–t don’t get easy. Some days are harder than others but you’re worth everything,” Belle continued. “To be loved by you is the biggest blessing within itself. I love you so much, baby.”
The luxe waterfront layout, designed by Blooming Events curators of Orange County, California, featured large marquee letters reading “MARRY ME.” Alongside the romantic request was a white heart-shaped flower arch, spark boxes and a petal-drenched aisle lined with long-stem white roses.
Jones asked for Belle’s hand in marriage from an iPad that was propped up on a music stand.
After agreeing to be the lawbreaker’s lawfully wedded wife, the blond’s mother placed a radiant-cut rock from Jones on her ring finger.
“To do life with you is the biggest gift within itself,” Belle penned in a separate post dedicated to the hulking diamond.
The breathtaking sights notwithstanding, digital Debby-downers rained on the couple’s big moment with shady sneers pertaining to Jones’ legal status.
“I’m conflicted between ‘If he wanted to he would’ and “HE’S IN JAIL,’” laughed a naysayer beneath the event planner’s clip, which amassed more than 2.8 million views.
“The reddest green flag I’ve ever seen,” wrote a similarly suspicious skeptic.
“I get genuinely happy for people but sometimes I can’t,” said another cynic, punctuating her disdain with several laughing emojis. “I’d be so embarrassed standing there with an iPad.”
But Belle isn’t the only unconventional inamorata who’s agreed to do life with a convict.
Gemma Morgan, a 31-year-old British woman, tied the knot with Leonel Vasquez, 31, in December 2022, despite his 20-year sentence behind bars for rape.
And Texas newlywed Erica Saunders garnered millions of TikTok views — and rebukes — after revealing she’d become hitched to hubby-to-be Austin in July 2022. The brunette fell in love with her bad boy-turned-groom during his seven-year lockup for assisting an armed robbery.
But Belle is totally unbothered by the social media backlash she’s endured.
“To all the negative comments, you can’t even get some flowers from the gas station or a text back from [your] mans,” she jabbed. “That’s if you [have] one.”
