Jason Kelce has recounted the night he drunkenly met his wife, Kylie, after the two matched on Tinder, but his former Eagles teammate, Beau Allen, has now added some additional details to the love story.
During the latest installment of his “New Heights” podcast, Kelce asked Allen, “What’s your side of the story,” after he reminded him that “Kylie’s first impression of me was you carrying me out of a bar,” Buffalo Billiards in the Old City neighborhood of Philadelphia.
“That was physically one of the hardest things I’ve ever done,” Allen said, to which Kelce replied: “I was fighting you. I was fighting everyone.”
Allen, who announced his retirement in July 2022, then recalled how the couple met on Tinder and that Kelce had filled in some of his Eagles teammates at the time.
“The thing that people don’t know is, Kylie and Jason met on Tinder, so for a week or two leading up to you guys meeting, they were chit-chatting online and Kelce’s talking about this girl: ‘I really like this girl, I gotta make a good first impression. What am I going to say to her?'” Allen said.
“We were in the cafeteria just talking about it. Then we were at the holiday party in Philly, which is a big deal, kind of a formal event, we dressed up and pre-gamed it, of course … Then Kelce’s like, ‘I think I’m going to meet up with this girl,’ and I heard all about her, I’m excited to meet her.
“Then the night just went a little bit sideways and Kelc fell asleep on the bar, like snoozing. This is the thing about Kelc. it’s not uncommon … I have a disturbing amount of photos of you sleeping just asleep in various places … It’s cobblestone streets and you’re fighting me Kelce. At one point, I dropped you.”
That’s when Kelce asked Allen if he was “shocked” when Kylie agreed to go on a second date with him.
“I was slightly surprised,” Allen said, laughing. “But you’re a great guy. You’re charming, look at that laugh. How can you not want to go on a second date with you?”
Things obviously worked out, as the couple eventually tied the knot in April 2018.
They share three daughters, Wyatt, 4, Elliotte, 2, and Bennett, who was born in February 2023 after brother Travis’ Chiefs defeated Jason’s Eagles in the Super Bowl, 38-35.
Kylie previously admitted in the documentary “Kelce” on Amazon Prime Video that she believed she was getting catfished when she first met Jason on Tinder.
