NY man dies after drunken fight with building super sets off beatdown: sources
A 46-year-old man died after a brutal beatdown near his Bronx apartment that was sparked over a beef with his building superintendent and two of his pals, law enforcement sources said Wednesday.
Jesus Garcia allegedly “started problems” with the super and the others following a night of drinking at the Excelente Gil Cafeteria Restaurant in Soundview on Saturday morning, the building caretaker told police, according to sources.
Moments later, violence erupted when the two buds started to fight Garcia — knocking him to the ground and repeatedly punching him in the head, according to sources.
He was left with brain damage and a fractured jaw from the violent tussle, police and sources said.
Garcia was taken to Jacobi Hospital, where he was left clinging to life for three days, cops said.
He succumbed to his injuries Tuesday, source said.
Meanwhile, no arrests have been made, the NYPD said.
