‘Gang’s All Here’ Podcast Episode 178: Jets Trade Zach Wilson, 2024 NFL Draft Preview

Jets GM Joe Douglas

Jets fans can now rejoice. The Zach Wilson Jets era is finally over.

On Monday, they traded the 2021 No. 2 overall pick to the Broncos for a swap of late-round draft picks.

It was coming to the point where the Jets were getting close to having to just eat the money and release Wilson.

Instead, they were able to get something and send him to a team where he could get a fresh start and maybe even a chance to play.

Wilson’s three years with the Jets were a nightmare for the team and the fan base.

With Aaron Rodgers and now backup Tyrod Taylor, there was zero reason for Wilson to be on the roster.

With the 2024 NFL Draft days away, this was the week to get the move done and GM Joe Douglas was able to move him.

Speaking of the draft, Brian Costello and I returned just in time Monday with a pre-draft “Gang’s All Here” podcast.

We make our mock picks for the Jets at No. 10, react to the Wilson trade and everything that has happened the last six weeks of the Jets offseason.

ZACH WILSON TRADE: The trade happened after we recorded the podcast so I did an open on the trade. It was a no-brainer. This is a weight off the Jets’ shoulders with him off the roster. It had to be done. They could not go into training camp with him still here. The fact they got something in return for him is a blessing in itself.

OFFSEASON REVIEW: I loved the Taylor ham, egg and cheese Mike Williams story. Coz was not a huge fan of it. We both loved the Haason Reddick trade for the Jets. Coz was not the biggest fan of the Jets letting Bryce Huff go, but Reddick could be better in the short-term.

10TH PICK: What should the Jets do with the 10th pick? Keep it? Trade up? Trade down? We go through all the different scenarios.

MOCK PICK: I have the Jets taking tight end Brock Bowers. I think giving Aaron Rodgers another tight end target, who could also play in the slot, makes this offense more dynamic. You can use him and Tyler Conklin at the same time and give the future Hall of Fame QB so many options.
