AI tricksters spread fake Rihanna Met Gala red carpet photos after she reportedly skips due to flu

Sorry, they’ll be no Rih-awakening tonight.

Although fans held their breath in anticipation for Rihanna’s Met Gala red carpet arrival, it seems the sultry singer has been struck with the flu.

Insiders close to the “S&M” songstress told People the sudden sickness is keeping her away from the celebration of the Costume Institute’s spring 2024 exhibition, “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion.”

But tech-savvy savages tried tricking Twitter users with AI-generated images of the 36-year-old pinup wearing ornate designs on the Met’s steps. One faux photo even garnered over 2.2 million likes on social media.

But diehard devotees of the diva couldn’t be duped.

The big disappointment comes days after Rihanna debuted her platinum pink tresses at partner A$AP Rocky’s Puma collaboration party in Miami on Saturday.

Rihanna publicly RSVP’ed for this year’s Met Gala during a launch party for her Fenty Beauty Soft’lit Foundation collection in late April.

The then honey-blond bombshell told Extra she planned to keep her Met Gala garb “very simple-ish.”

Rather than going overboard with an avant-garde getup — such as the canary yellow couture by Guo Pei that she donned at the 2015 gala or the saintly John Galliano creation she gave life while co-chairing the 2018 show — Rih vowed to go over the top with her glam this year.

“It’s gonna come to what my makeup and what my hair is going to do,” said the multi-hyphenate mama of two. “We wanna play with that, but I have no idea what I’m gonna do with that.”

The posh parent, who flaunted her second baby bump in an all-white, flower-adorned Valentino piece at the 2023 gala, also revealed that becoming a mommy has changed her taste in togs.

“I did so much s – – t in my life. I had my nipples out, I had my panties out,” she said. “But now those are the things, I guess, as a mom, as an evolved young lady … it’s just things that I just feel like I would never do. I’m just like, ‘Oh my god, I really did that? Nips out?’”

Eagle-eyed Rihanna enthusiasts speculated that the “Work” wonder might debut yet another bun-in-the-oven during this year’s Met mania.

She sparked suspicions after faking a sip of champagne at her Fenty function. Fans rushed to X, née Twitter, with maybe-baby fever.

Whatever is going on, here’s hoping Rih gets well soon.
