It turns out that the Giants were not done adding quarterbacks just because the NFL draft passed.
The Giants claimed Nathan Rourke off of waivers Tuesday from the Patriots, The Post confirmed.
The twist is that Rourke previously tried out for the Giants as a receiver during rookie minicamp in 2021, the final year of the Dave Gettleman-Joe Judge era.
Rourke went undrafted out of Ohio University in 2021 but earned his ticket to the NFL by starring in his native Canadian Football League.
He set the CFL single-season record by completing 78.7 percent of his passes in 2022, when, despite missing eight games with a foot injury, he was named the league’s Most Outstanding Canadian after a 25-touchdown season.
Rourke, 25, was the odd man out in New England after the drafting of two quarterbacks — first-rounder Drake Maye and sixth-rounder Joe Milton.
He spent most of last season on the Jaguars practice squad before finding his way to the Patriots in December.
The Giants tried to trade up from the No. 6 pick to No. 3 to draft Maye but the Patriots reportedly were looking for a historic offer.
Rourke joins a quarterback room that includes presumptive starter Daniel Jones and experienced former starters Drew Lock and Tommy DeVito.
He probably poses the biggest threat to DeVito in the battle for third-stringer.
General manager Joe Schoen and head coach Brian Daboll should be familiar with Rourke after hosting him for a late-season workout in 2022.
