Travis Kelce went there.
During the latest installment of his and brother Jason Kelce’s “New Heights” podcast, the Chiefs tight end called out Patrick Mahomes and poked fun at his “dad bod” after the Chiefs quarterback recently said he can’t keep up with the Kelce bros when it comes to partying.
“I’ve seen that man literally drink bars out of Coors [Light] literally — like, ‘We gotta run to the store and get some more. We didn’t think we’d run out of these things,'” Travis said. “But Pat Mahomes has done it twice now…Your body doesn’t look like that for nothing Pat. That dad bod, it don’t look like that for nothing.”
Travis was referring the viral Mahomes moment, when he was seen shirtless on “Inside the NFL” after the Chiefs took home the AFC Championship in a 17-10 win over the Baltimore Ravens in January — and the quarterback was trolled over his stomach.
Mahomes appeared on Logan Paul’s “Impaulsive” podcast on Friday and explained that now that he is a father of two, he can’t keep up with Travis and Jason when they drink together.
“I used to, I think, and then I had kids,” Mahomes said. “And you hear my voice now. I left [the party] early every night.”
The three-time Super Bowl champ and his wife Brittany Mahomes share two children: daughter Sterling Skye, 3, and son Patrick “Bronze” Lavon Mahomes III, who was born on Nov. 28, 2022.
Mahomes added that his Coors Light consumption went down when he and his wife started expanding their family.
“100 percent man. You’ve got to pick and choose these days, you’ve got to pick and choose,” he said. “… Jason has [three] kids too and so he has to pick and choose too, but when he chooses, he can go. I think it’s got to be something in their blood or something.”
Jason also called out Mahomes on his and Travis’ podcast.
“I’m calling bulls–t,” he said. “Pat can keep up, he knows he can. He’s playing coy right here, especially if it’s Coors Light, nobody’s keeping up with Pat.”
Travis added, “Pat, I don’t know where the f–k we get it but you better stop playing modest and acting like you can’t drink because you can keep up.”
Mahomes, who was seen slamming Coors Lights during the Chiefs’ 2023 Super Bowl parade, had fun with the dad-bod buzz on social media.
“Yoooo why they have to do me like that!?!?!?” he wrote on X at the time, adding a few crying-laughing emojis.
“Like i got kids!!!!” he added in another post.
Mahomes and the Kelce brothers and their families are close friends.
Travis was a groomsman in Mahomes and Brittany’s wedding, which took place in Maui, Hawaii in March 2022 after a decade of dating.
“Our friendship kind of built naturally, he’s kinda like me,” Mahomes said of Travis, whom he’s won three Super Bowls with on the Chiefs. “He’s friends with all of his boys he grew up with, and I’m friends with all of my boys I grew up with and we’ve all kind of become just one big friend group… I’m gonna keep him around for a couple more years for sure.”
Travis recently signed a new two-year contract extension with the Chiefs worth $34.25 million .
