That’ll leave a mark.
Blue Jays fan Liz McGuire took to her X account to show off some gruesome pictures of her face after she took a 110 MPH foul ball to her right eye and forehead, which is showing massive damage and bruising.
“Hey @BlueJays I got my face mashed in by a 110mph foul off Bo Bichette’s bat. I didn’t even get the ball,” McGuire said in her post with a before-and-after picture of a swelled-shut right eye and a hematoma on her forehead. “I even stayed till the end of the game. Any way you can hook a girl up?”
It would appear that someone got ahold of the ball, as McGuire tended to her injury, as the ball ended up in the hands of a different fan.
“Bro, you got hit with it, and someone took the ball from you??” one account asked in the comments. McGuire simply responded, “Yep.”
After the game, McGuire says she went to a hospital to get an X-ray on her face, although she did after the team medical staff checked her out.
Another fan said that she needed to be checked for a brain bleed, saying that something similar happened where she ended up requiring brain surgery.
Thankfully, it appears that McGuire came out of this without a concussion, fracture or brain surgery required.
For now, it seems like she is just seeking a souvenir ball from the team.
One fan asked if she was sitting there on her phone but she claims it was quite the contrary.
“I tuned [sic] away for a second to argue about the need for robot umps to my buddy,” the hardcore baseball fan said on X.
While the Blue Jays have yet to “hook a girl up” with a list of gifts that fans have flooded into mentions, such as season tickets, Topps Trading Cards did give her a small token.
The sports card company recently purchased by Fanatics produced 110 copies of a custom trading card dawning her bruised face for her to do with what she pleases.
