Tank Dell is participating in Texans drills just three weeks after he got caught up in a nightclub shooting in Florida.
Dell, the second-year wideout, got struck by a stray bullet amid crossfire during a dispute at Cabana Live in Sanford, a half-hour drive north of Orlando, late last month.
Dell, 24, was not involved in the dispute.
At practice Tuesday, Dell did not appear to have been hampered physically by the incident.
Jonathan Alexander of the Houston Chronicle posted a video on X of Dell running a tight route that included a sharp cut and wrote that he had “[n]o noticeable limitations, which is a great sign.”
ESPN’s Texans reporter DJ Bien-Aime posted a video of a completion from quarterback CJ Stroud to Dell with the caption that the wideout was “back like he never left.”
Speaking to reporters Tuesday, Texans head coach DeMeco Ryans said he was “happy for Tank to get back out there.”
“We know he went through a very tragic situation. We’re just happy that he’s here — happy that he’s back out being able to do what he loves doing, and that’s playing football,” Ryans continued.
“It’s fun to see him running around, being the same player he’s been before, making plays, being a dynamic player for us. Everyone is excited to see Tank back out there.”
A speedster, Dell caught 47 balls for 709 yards and seven touchdowns in 11 games during his rookie year for the Texans last season.
In total, 10 people were shot during the incident in April.
NBC affiliate WESH reported earlier this month that 16-year-old Christopher Bouie Jr. is getting charged as an adult in the shooting.
Among the charges brought by the state’s attorney are five counts of attempted second-degree murder while discharging a firearm.
