NYC’s first-ever espresso martini bar shaking — and stirring things up

This cocktail lounge is giving New Yorkers a caffeine high.

Rose Room, the first espresso martini bar in New York City, is shaking and stirring things up with its spin on the classic recipe.

“An espresso martini is normally just espresso, espresso liqueur and vodka, but each cocktail had a different type of liquor in it, a few of them had rum, a few of them had gin,” said Lindsay Roberts, who runs Beani Martinis, an Instagram page devoted to espresso martini lovers.

Their Gold Standard espresso martini is made with vodka and Valrhona chocolate and garnished with gold flakes, and the Velvet Tiramisu consists of organic rum and is topped with a churro. Stefano Giovannini

The menu at Rose Room, which is located on the fourth level of The Shops & Restaurants at Hudson Yards in Midtown, consists of five espresso martinis, each $21, with names like Lychee Rose Love, Cherry Blossom Bliss and Velvet Tiramisu — which are served more like desserts, complete with toppings like cotton candy, churros and gold flakes.

Roberts, 24, who was visiting from Orlando, Fla., and her friends tried all of the five options and particularly enjoyed the Cherry Blossom Bliss, made of vodka, cassis, honey and espresso, and garnished with a cotton candy-shaped rose.

“They put it on top and it just kind of melts into the martini. That one was really cool to watch,” she told The Post.

Rose Room opened inside of queensyard, a restaurant run by the group D&D London, in late February, and only operates from 5pm to 9pm Tuesdays through Saturdays which is the “ideal timing for the Happy Hour crowd and for those looking for a pre-dinner cocktail,” said Ryan Harris, director of operations for D&D London USA.

Guests are “a blend of in-the-know New Yorkers, espresso martini enthusiasts, international tourists looking for a unique cocktail experience, and the Hudson Yards community,” according to Harris.

The bar gets its name from the over 4,000 real preserved roses that adorn its walls and hang from the ceilings.

“It’s very sexy and fun. It kind of gives you a ‘Sex and the City’ vibe,” said Williamsburg resident Janneh Konneh, a content creator.

“It could also be seen as a date night spot, but I think it’s also very good for a girls’ night,” Konneh, 28, gushed.

There are also a few food items on the menu — $21 truffle fries with Grana Padano, $21 truffle arancini aka rice balls and spicy tuna crispy rice for $24.

For more refined palates, there are also two caviar options — tray service with .5 ounces for $75 and full service of 2 ounces for $275.

And if a guest is not in the mood for an espresso martini, they also serve glasses of Rose and Champagne, both from France, for $17 and $26, respectively.

Amy Franks, 32, a travel influencer from Orlando, was in Hudson Yards for a networking event and happened upon the “little speakeasy tucked away” by chance and said it was “quite the ambiance, very New York-esque.”

She went against the grain and opted for the Rose.

“I do not love espresso martinis, my friends do, so I got Rose,” she said.

“Naturally in the Rose Room, you need a glass of Rose.”
