A creepy federal immigration cop crossed the line when he tried to shoot video up a flight attendant’s skirt on a domestic flight – while accompanying an illegal immigrant who was getting deported.
US Immigration and Customs Enforcement deportation officer Billy Olvera, 48, now faces up to 20 years in federal prison after he was convicted in Miami federal court last week of interfering with a crew during the 2023 Texas-to-Florida flight, the US Attorney’s Office in the Southern District of Florida said in a press release.
“A flight attendant noticed Olvera holding his phone in the aisle, aimed towards the ceiling, each time she walked by him,” federal prosecutors said of the Nov. 6, 2023, incident. “The victim notified another flight attendant who then filmed Olvera the next time the victim walked by him.
“Olvera could be seen attempting to film up the skirt of the victim.”
The attendants notified the American Airlines pilot, who delayed the landing and arranged for police to meet the plane when it touched down.
Police later found several “up-skirt” images on the ICE officer’s phone.
According to the feds, Olvera had a migrant in custody during the whole thing and was transporting the unknown immigrant from Dallas to Miami, where he was set to be deported.
Olvera was arrested after he got off the flight and was put on trial this year – with his conviction coming on Wednesday.
He is due to be sentenced on Aug. 16 by Chief Judge Cecilia Altonaga.
“Mr. Olvera is sincerely remorseful,” the ICE cop’s lawyer, Robert Malove, told the Associated Press. “Mr. Olvera deeply regrets his actions and prays for forgiveness from all those involved.”
Olvera is free on bond pending the sentencing.
