Buzzworthy video shows Boston news anchor Vanessa Welch seemingly swallow fly live on air

There was a news anchor who swallowed a fly…

Or maybe it was just an eyelash?

Boston 25’s morning anchor Vanessa Welch is being praised for not missing a beat after something fell into her mouth mid-sentence as she delivered the news.

Welch, undeterred, appears to swallow the surprise snack and power through the nasty moment.

Social media users marveled at Welch’s ability to stay focused during the live broadcast.

“That is professionalism right there,” one person wrote.

“Nah she needs a raise, she didn’t even bat an eye,” another said.

“Not even fazed. Peak professionalism,” another noted.

Lots of people on the video, which has more than 250,000 likes on Instagram, claimed the unidentified object appeared to be a black fly.

But others said it was just an eyelash that fell into her mouth.

“Looks more like she is wearing individual strip lashes (like lashify) and one of them has detached and come off while blinking,” one woman commented.

The Post has reached out to Welch and Boston 25 to figure out what, exactly, happened.
