Former pro-rugby player’s wife exposes husband’s gross wedding night act
The wife of Brisbane Broncos legend Corey Parker has revealed the gross act the former National Rugby League star did on their wedding night.
The 42-year-old Parker was a veteran of 347 NRL matches all for the Brisbane Broncos as well as 19 State of Origin games for Queensland and 13 Tests for Australia.
Post-career, Parker has been part of the media as a member of Fox League.
However, he’s not the only member of his family in the public eye with his wife Margaux a Brisbane radio personality, making up one-third of Triple M Brisbane’s Breakfast with Marto, Margaux and Dan.
During a call-in segment on Thursday sparked by co-host Greg Martin having eaten a bacon and egg wrap out of his bin, Margaux revealed a somewhat similar story from her 2008 wedding night with the NRL great.
“I’ve got a story from our wedding night,” Margaux began. “My husband, as we were coming down the hallway of the hotel to enter our room, someone had left their room service out in front of their room once they’d finished with it.
“Corey picked up and ate half an already eaten BLT sandwich.
“I said ‘don’t you dare’ and he picked it up, put that little silver tray back down on the thing and picked up the BLT and munched into it.”
“On your wedding night?” her co-hosts asked.
“On our wedding night,” she replied.
“Then proceeded to go back down to the room and get onto the room service and to make an order … until I came out in my after the wedding outfit and then he said ‘I’m going to have to call you back mate, I’ll get that BLT later’.”
As her co-hosts laughed, she added: “He ate somebody else’s room service that had already been half consumed. What an animal!”
Margaux’s co-host Dan Anstey chimed in: “Of all the places a story about a rugby league player could go in a hallway, that’s the best way somehow.”
The rogue act didn’t scare Margaux away, however, with the pair having had four children together in their 15-year marriage.
The pair also renewed their wedding vows on their 15th wedding anniversary last November.
In a post on Instagram, Margaux revealed she had organised the surprise so the pair could say “we still do”.
“I love you more than I could have ever imagined I could all those years ago and I am so grateful for the life we have built together. I am so proud of our children and the roles we play as their parents together we are a great team!” she wrote.
Corey shared a video on Instagram after the event, writing: “Better together. Nothing better than the most amazing surprise. Getting to do this all over again with my beautiful kids will be something I will never forget.”
Parker has also proven to be a popular pundit and made waves earlier this year when he made the admission he had “no doubt” he is suffering symptoms of chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE).
“This CTE, it’s the word that obviously gets thrown around and rightly so, it is real,” Parker said.
“I have no doubt whatsoever over my tenure as a rugby league player that I have symptoms, I have symptoms of CTE.
“But it’s something that you can’t really get a grasp on until obviously post-mortem. You can try and manage different things, but the damage is done, isn’t it.”
