UFC 302 fan gets punched down stands as ‘slap me’ taunt goes horribly wrong in ugly brawl

Fights at UFC 302 in Newark, New Jersey weren’t limited to the octagon.

There was some brutal violence in the stands that would’ve been easily called off by a referee if it had occurred in the ring.

A war of words between two fans quickly escalated as one with long blonde hair in a black tank top screamed, “You said you were going to slap me, didn’t you white boy? Come slap me white boy” while pounding his chest.

Eventually, the two men stood up and went face to face when the blonde-haired fan got exactly what he wanted: A slap to the face by the man sitting in front of him wearing a bucket hat.

The hat-wearing not-exactly-gentleman then fell backward after the slap before an all-out brawl ensued.

According to a video posted on X by @happypunch, three slaps were thrown before one looked to completely knock the blonde-haired man unconscious as he somersaulted roughly five rows down the section.

From there, bystanders reacted with “oohs” and “ahhhs” to one of the more entertaining and bizarre knockouts of the night.

The slaps appear to turn into punches as this man’s long blonde hair worked against him as it was grabbed by the attacker, who landed multiple uncontested shots to the face.

The ugly scene got worse as some fans get out of the way of the assault, while others join in on the brutality.

There were no knockouts or TKO’s at UFC 302, an extremely rate occurrence with most of the fights going to the judges scorecards for a decision.

The three finishes of the 12 fights ended in a submission, including the main event where Islam Makhachev submitted Dustin Poirier in the fifth round to retain his lightweight championship.
