Man arrested, charged with voyeurism at Taylor Swift’s Eras tour show in Edinburgh
A 64-year-old man has been charged with voyeurism after attending one of Taylor Swift’s sold-out Eras tour shows in Edinburgh, Scotland over the weekend.
Scotland Police said the concert-goer was arrested at the 14-time Grammy winner’s sold-out show on Saturday, where the singer performed in front of a 73,000-strong crowd at Murrayfield Stadium.
“A 64-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with a voyeurism offense committed within Murrayfield during the event on Saturday June 8,” Superintendent David Happs said in a statement.
“He was released on an undertaking to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court at a later date.”
In the UK, non-consensual voyeurism is an illegal offense. It is the act of gaining sexual gratification through watching or recording someone in a private act.
The “Fortnight” hitmaker, 34, kicked off the UK leg of her global tour on Friday with a total of 3 sold-out shows in the Scottish capital.
Each night, the “Cruel Summer” singer performed to a 73,000-strong crowd, making her shows the highest attended stadium concerts in Scotland’s history.
“Edinburgh!!! You truly blew me away this weekend,” Swift wrote on Instagram after the shows.
“Thank you for breaking the all-time attendance record for a stadium show in Scotland 3 times in a row and for all the ways you made us feel right at home. Love you, all 220,000 of you!!!”
And the Edinburgh shows weren’t without it’s special moments, as the singer even witnessed a couple getting engaged during her combined “Folklore” and “Evermore” set.
“I love performing this entire show in the sunlight ’cause I’m pretty sure I just, like, saw somebody get engaged over here,” the pop star told the crowd at Murrayfield Stadium in a clip shared on Threads.
