Prince William dances to ‘Shake It Off’ during Eras Tour in London
He’s a London Boy with serious moves.
Prince William celebrated his birthday by dancing to Taylor Swift’s “Shake It Off” during the first night of the Eras Tour in London.
William, 42, reportedly attended the sold-out Friday concert at Wembley Stadium with his two eldest children, Prince George, 10, and Princess Charlotte, 9.
The Prince of Wales appeared to be dancing enthusiastically during the “Shake It Off” portion of the four-hour set list, video circulating online showed.
The royal trio also posed for a selfie with Swift and her boyfriend, Kansas City Chief tight end Travis Kelce, which was later shared on the singer’s Instagram.
A few hours ahead of the show, the royal guard band played “Shake It Off” in front of Buckingham Palace to welcome Swift, 34, to London.
William has crossed paths with the musician in the past: In 2013, he, Swift and Jon Bon Jovi famously performed a rendition of “Livin’ on a Prayer” during a Centrepoint charity event at Kensington Palace.
“I went to a charity fundraising gala for Centrepoint, which is a young homeless charity that I am very fond of and have supported for many years. It’s an annual fundraiser, and I turn up, and Jon Bon Jovi and Taylor Swift are at the event, which nearly knocked me off my feet as well,” William said of the star-crossed meeting on an episode of Apple Fitness+’s Time to Walk series in 2021.
“When I sat down to watch Jon Bon Jovi do his performance, I thought, ‘That’s it. My job is done. I’ll get a dinner in a minute, and I might be able to have a chat to some people, and, you know, I’m off-duty a little bit now.’ Little did I think what was going to happen next,” he continued.
“I’m sat next to Taylor Swift. She’s on my left. And after Jon does his first song, there’s a pause and she turns to me. She puts her hand on my arm, looks me in the eye, and says, ‘Come on, William. Let’s go and sing.’”
Prince William and his children’s night out at the Eras Tour came almost a week after they appeared at the Trooping the Color festivities to mark King Charles III’s traditional birthday celebration.
The annual event was Kate, Princess of Wales’ first official public appearance since Christmas Day 2023.
The mother of three is currently undergoing “preventative” chemotherapy following an abdominal surgery earlier this year.
