Paige VanZant dominates in Power Slap debut for first combat sports win since 2019

Paige VanZant finally put herself in the win column with an impressive Power Slap debut.

The former UFC star, who recently called her combat sports career “only a hobby” after the success of her OnlyFans account, earned her first win since 2019 when she defeated Christine Wolmarans by unanimous decision Friday night.

Each judge scored the match overwhelmingly for VanZant at 30-25.

Wolmarans’ strikes seemed to have little effect on her opponent.

VanZant even had to take a fourth slap after a flinching violation in the third round.

VanZant, 30, scored two knockdowns — her first time dropping any opponent since a knockout UFC win over Bec Rawlings in 2019.

“Honestly, it was absolutely incredible,” VanZant said after the bout. “Of course I wanted to knock her out with the first slap, but I’m so happy that it went the way that it did. I knew I could take a punch, I knew I could take a slap. That was really fun.”

She had been in quiet the rut heading into the debut with Power Slap, which is run by UFC president Dana White.

She lost her last UFC fight to Amanda Ribas in 2020 and suffered Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship losses to Britain Hart and Rachael Ostovich, and in May, she fell to Elle Brooke in an influencers boxing match for Misfits.

Even so, VanZant has had incredible success as an OnlyFans model, which has now become her full-time job.

“Fighting, I have to understand now, is just a hobby; it’s my part-time job,” VanZant told TMZ earlier this week. “I have to realize that OnlyFans is what’s providing everything for me.”

“There’s a lot of things I would [do] to provide and support for my family,” she continued. “I would kill for my family. This is much less than that.”

Though it doesn’t seem like her Power Slap win will be a one-off.

“This is too much fun to walk away from,” VanZant said Friday.
