Jaylen Brown got back the ring he’d lost at the Celtics’ championship parade last month, and the All-Star guard is offering the two fans who returned it a chance to see the NBA champs receive their title hardware next season in person.
Brown had promised “a big reward” for the personalized “7uice” ring that went missing at the victory celebration in Boston on June 21.
“Got it back. Thank you to Luke and Adi,” Brown wrote on X on Tuesday, along with a photo of the returned jewelry. “I’ll see you courtside at the [ring emoji] ceremony.”
Brown also posted a video to his Instagram account showing him wearing a hoodie and sunglasses while meeting and hugging the fans on Causeway Street in Boston.
He presented them with a signed basketball and a jersey during the exchange.
The Celtics, who downed the Mavericks in five games to capture the franchise’s NBA record 18th league title, are expected to receive their championship rings at their home opener at TD Garden in October.
The 2024-25 schedule has not been released.
The 27-year-old Brown was named MVP of the NBA Finals after averaging 20.8 points, 5.4 rebounds and 5.0 assists against the Mavericks.
The Celtics have not been active in free agency but have been busy rewarding key pieces of their championship team.
Fellow star Jayson Tatum agreed to a five-year, $314 million pact, which just beat the five-year, $304 million extension Brown had signed with the team.
Two-way wing Derrick White also re-upped for five years and $126.5 million.
Boston has all the key pieces of its championship team returning and has been established as the early favorite for the 2025 championship.
The Celtics are, however, looking for new ownership, with Wyc Grousbeck looking to sell a majority stake of the iconic franchise.
