Ivanka Trump believes mom Ivana was ‘watching over dad’ Donald during assassination attempt on two-year anniversary of her death
Former first daughter Ivanka Trump says her mom Ivana was “watching over Dad” when he survived an assassination attempt Saturday night as she remembers the second anniversary of her mother’s death.
“Two years ago today, my mom passed away. I believe she was watching over Dad last night during the attempt on his life,” Ivanka wrote on social media about her mother Ivana Trump, who died at 73 in 2022.
“I miss her every day and pray for the safety of the family and friends she left behind,” she added.
Ivana Trump, the ex-wife of former President Donald Trump and mother of Ivanka, Eric and Don Jr. died after falling down a staircase in her Manhattan home, the New York City Medical Examiner’s Office said at the time.
The former model’s death was ruled “accidental” by the medical examiner’s office.
The anniversary of Ivana Trump’s death comes one day after a sniper, identified as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks, shot and wounded former President Trump from a rooftop some 130 yards away while Trump was speaking at a rally in Butler, Pa.
Trump’s ear was grazed and one rally-goer was killed, while at least two others were critically injured in the attack, police said.
Secret Service agents jumped into action and rushed a bleeding Trump off stage immediately after he was struck. Crooks was quickly taken out by Secret Service snipers, police said.
Horrifying videos and photos show the gunman positioned on a nearby rooftop taking aim at the former president moments before he is taken out.
The FBI has not yet identified a motive behind the shooting.
