Armie Hammer spoke about the many troubling accusations against him, including cannibalism, in a new bombshell interview with Piers Morgan, which airs Friday.
The “Call Me by Your Name” actor, 37, appeared on “Piers Morgan Uncensored” and denied that he ever sexually assaulted anyone, including his former girlfriend Effie Angelova.
In 2021, Angelova accused Hammer of “violently” raping her and abusing her “mentally, emotionally and sexually” in 2017. Multiple other women came forward claiming Hammer was into cannibalistic fantasies and BDSM. (The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office confirmed last year that Hammer would not be charged with sexual assault.)
Speaking to Morgan, 59, Hammer denied all the accusations, starting with being a cannibal.
“You know what you have to do to be a cannibal? You have to have actually eaten someone,” he said.
He also denied he’s ever eaten human flesh.
“This was a very intense affair, very sexually charged, between two people with very similar proclivities and kinks,” Hammer said about his relationship with Angelova, which occurred while he was married to his now-ex-wife Elizabeth Chambers. (The former spouses separated in 2020 and finalized their divorce in 2023.)
Hammer continued: “Any of those conversations that we [he and Angelova] had inside of that relationship, when you take them outside of that context and put them into broad daylight, it doesn’t look so good.”
He addressed the claims he was into BDSM sex and role-play as well. “You know, different people have different sexual fantasies. And there’s a very broad spectrum of sexuality, and people are allowed to engage with their own sexuality however it fits them and what they do,” he told Morgan.
The “Hotel Mumbai” actor said the concept of cannibalism as role-play “was just sort of born out of a desire, to sort of like, ‘I want you so completely’, and ‘I want you so totally’ that it’s almost like ‘I want to eat you.’ “
He also chalked up sending messages about cannibalism to his alleged victims as just “all fun fantasy.”
Hammer was asked about another one of his exes, Courtney Vucekovich, who alleged he subjected her to sexual and emotional abuse when they were together.
“I disagree with the nature of our relationship and how she described it,” Hammer said. “I will say this, there are people that I left who were hurt and who were upset. None of those people were hurt or upset because I pushed any sexual boundaries that they weren’t interested in exploring or trying.”
A third ex, Paige Lorenze, had accused Hammer of branding her with a knife. But he claims what happened wasn’t quite as she described.
“I wouldn’t say brand. No … There was a scenario that we talked about beforehand, that we had discussed where, you know, I would basically take a little, tiny point and just kind of trace the letter ‘A,’ ” Hammer explained. “Just like the tip of a small knife … I mean, there wasn’t even blood in the situation. It was more like a scrape. It’s along the lines of couples getting their own initials tattooed on each other.”
Hammer said using a knife on Lorenze was “less permanent.” He added: “I guarantee it was such a small thing.”
The “Social Network” actor openly admitted to cheating on Chambers, 41, with multiple partners in the interview. (The pair share daughter Harper, 9, and son Ford, 7.) He said he “was faithful for a long time” in their marriage, specifically the first seven years after their wedding. However, Hammer said the former couple drifted apart, which prompted him to start having affairs.
When asked how many people he cheated with, Hammer replied: “Probably more than the average person would be exposed to, I wouldn’t say many hundreds. No, you know, I would say enough.”
“It was a dark time. It was a dark, painful time,” Hammer continued. “It’s also something that I have to accept is on me. I had an affair on my wife. Obviously, I’m not the first person in the history of Hollywood to do that, but I did it, and it’s less than becoming behavior that I have to own.”
Hammer said he was suicidal after the scandal. According to the actor, while in the Cayman Islands he swam far out to sea hoping to drown.
“But then as I was out there in the ocean, I just, I thought about my kids standing on shore,” he said. “I thought about them standing on shore and asking where I was.”
He added, “It wasn’t a great plan, you know, but I was desperate. I wasn’t thinking clearly.”
Hammer and Chambers, meanwhile, are now “very good co-parents” in the aftermath. He fought back tears revealing he had to undergo a psycho-legal evaluation during the former couple’s custody battle.
“I mean, during the time of the evaluation, I was only allowed to be around the kids with supervision, a therapist,” he said. “I remember, there was a time when I was under the evaluation where my daughter came up to me and she said, ‘Dad, I need to go to the bathroom’. And I looked at the therapist, and I wasn’t allowed to take my daughter to the bathroom. We had to get someone else to do it, because I couldn’t be alone with my child at the time. It was tough. It was a dark time for everybody.”
Hammer also said he was afraid his children would find out about the accusations against him online.
“I hate the idea that there’s any way their father’s sexuality or whatever, however you want to say, it could be weaponized against them by bullies or mean kids in school,” the “Death on the Nile” star said.
“I’m not being trite, I’m not being glib about this. I’m incredibly grateful for everything that happened. I now am able to be the father that my kids deserve. I’m able to give myself the love and validation that I was looking for from others. I’m able to be a good example to my kids. I’m able to also be a good example to my kids about sometimes we mess up, sometimes we fall on our face.”
