Dodgers fan fight erupts after drink-throwing incident

A game between the Dodgers and Red Sox wasn’t the only action taking place on Sunday night at Dodger Stadium.

Video captured by multiple fans showcased two couples squaring off in what was believed to be the lower bowl area of the stadium, along the left-field foul line.

Two women went face-to-face, apparently with one in an attempt to defend her partner.

“It was none of his business!” yelled one. “Do not put your hands on my boyfriend!”

Fans nearby began chanting “Take them out!” as security attempted to separate the pairings.

Things took a swift turn after one man in sunglasses waved goodbye to the other woman, who then proceeded to spill her beverage on him.

Not only did the man reciprocate by tossing more of his own drink on the woman, but punches were then exchanged between roughly four men, with two on each side.

Security attempted to withstand the hits and keep the contingents at bay.

“Shut up!” and “Cut it out!” yelled a pair of stadium officials.

The fight captured more than just the attention of social media, too.

Dodgers stars Teoscar Hernandez, Shoehi Ohtani and Yoshinobu Yamamoto were also captivated, turning their heads toward the stands as the melee ensued.

Hernandez, the winner of last week’s Home Run Derby, even mimicked throwing punches himself.

The fight seemed to take place during the first inning of Sunday’s game, potentially right after a solo home run from Freddie Freeman.

Backed by a mammoth 473-foot dinger from Ohtani himself, the Dodgers defeated the Red Sox 9-6 to sweep Boston.

Chavez Ravine hasn’t been a stranger to clashes between spectators in the past.

In April, two Dodgers fans fought in the stadium’s parking lot, and another was escorted by four security guards.

However, the 2024 MLB season seems to have been a relatively tamer one overall for those in attendance.
