Prince William removes Queen Camilla’s sister Annabel Elliot from payroll after two decades

Prince William has fired Queen Camilla’s interior designer sister Annabel Elliot after taking over the Duke of Cornwall title from his father, King Charles.

The Prince of Wales, 42, received a shiny new title and inherited the Duchy of Cornwall estate worth over $1 billion when his father assumed the throne in September 2022.

In one of his first acts as the owner of the plush estate, the prince removed Elliot, 75, from the payroll, the Telegraph reports.

Camilla’s younger sister has received a steady — and comfortable — income over the last two decades for her interior design services to the royals.

She was first hired by Charles, then the Prince of Wales, as chief designer of his estates after tying the knot with Camilla in 2005.

Since then, Elliot has raked in hundreds of thousands of dollars for her work, which included the design on the Duchy holiday cottage, as well as updating the decor at the Firm’s Cornwall, Wales and Isles of Scilly properties.

Earlier this week, palace sources confirmed to the outlet that William has decided to terminate Elliot’s employment — but stressed that this was no indication of any bad blood or dissatisfaction with her services.

The Integrated Annual Report, published Wednesday, details how Elliot had been paid “in the normal course of business and on an arm’s length basis” varying amounts ranging between $25,000 and $105,000 to maintain the royal family’s rental properties, as well as the Duchy offices.

Each year, Elliot was reimbursed between $9,000 and $116,000 for purchasing furniture, decor and retail stock, the report shows.

She was also hired to oversee the refurbishment of a 20-bedroom pub at the King’s Poundbury development in Dorset, south England, as well as a lodge for guests at Dumfries House in Ayrshire, Scotland.

However, despite her extensive work with the royals, Wednesday’s official report reveals that for the first time in nearly 20 years, Elliot was not paid for her services between 2023 and 2024.

Instead, the report repeats a line from the previous year, which includes six months of Charles’ spending before he became monarch.

Prince William’s eye-popping annual salary was also revealed in the report, showing that the heir to the throne received $30 million from the estate during the 2023-24 financial year.

But despite his impressive income, William has refused to reveal what he paid in taxes — breaking his father King Charles’ tradition, which spanned more than 30 years.
