MyKayla Skinner seems to have had enough of this controversy.
The former Olympian and silver medalist posted on her Instagram Story a photo of the U.S. women’s gymnastic team during the gold medal ceremony in Paris on Tuesday with three heart emojis above it.
The feeling was not mutual, though, as Simone Biles mocked Skinner on Instagram after her former teammate had questioned the team ahead of the Paris Olympics.
“Besides Simone, I feel like the talent and the depth just isn’t like what it used to be,” Skinner recently said in a deleted YouTube video, according to multiple reports. “The girls just don’t have the work ethic.”
At the time, Biles wrote on Threads, “Not everyone needs a mic and a platform.”
The eight-time medalist was even more direct Tuesday on Instagram after she led Team USA to gold with teammates Suni Lee, Jade Carey, Jordan Chiles and Hezly Rivera.
“Lack of talent, lazy, olympic champions ❤️🥇🇺🇸,” Biles captioned the celebratory Instagram post, five hours after Skinner had posted her support.

Skinner had previously tried walking back the comments, which also included harsh criticism of Safe Sport — the organization tasked with protecting athletes from abuse.

“I want to formally apologize to Team USA and to our gymnastic community for my comments during my recent YouTube episodes of the gymnastics Olympic trials,” Skinner wrote at the time. “It was not my intention to offend or disrespect any of the athletes or to take away from their hard work. Your hard work and dedication has paid off and I congratulate each and everyone one of you.”
That does not appear to be enough for Biles and the crew, who revealed Tuesday that their team nickname was FAAFO (F–k Around and Find Out).
Skinner, 27, won silver in the vault competition at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021.
