We dressed as Elvis Presley to score free flight upgrades — this is what happened next
They’re devils in disguise.
Two travel bloggers tried dressing up as Elvis Presley on a recent trip to Las Vegas in a bid to score free flight upgrades.
British couple Ryan and Jade, who host the YouTube series Live The Dash, were flying Virgin Atlantic from Manchester, England to Sin City when they tried the travel hack.
“When we heard a rumor that Elvis gets free upgrades on flights to Vegas we had NO CHOICE but to put it to the test,” Jade shared in an Instagram post.
The couple arrived at the airport decked out in Elvis regalia clad in white jumpsuits and shades.
Ryan even rocked an Elvis wig in a bid to be bumped up to first class.
In a video documenting their upgrade attempt, Ryan can be seen approaching the airport check-in desk and saying: “We have some premium economy tickets and we’re hoping that because we’ve dressed as Elvis Presley they’re going to bump us up to upper class.”
Jade had high hopes about their plan.
“It’s gone down amazingly,” Jade said in the vlog. “People are loving our outfits. People are walking past and taking pictures, they’re asking if we’re going to Vegas, and they’re making jokes about Elvis it’s making me feel so positive about a flight upgrade and also the journey that we’ve got ahead.”
However, despite their best efforts and high fashion, the couple were stuck with the economy seats they originally bought, though they did snag a complimentary Virgin Redhead cocktail.
And, later in the flight, they were allowed into the upper class section of the plane to temporarily sit in a plush booth.
“This is the sort of luxuries that upper class get… and Elvis,” Ryan declared.
“The main thing that I’ve learned is that you should just wear Elvis outfits on every flight that you go on because you never know what might happen,” Jade chimed in.
