Lala Kent weighs in on Jax Taylor’s decision to seek mental health treatment
She’s giving kudos to Jax Taylor.
Lala Kent shared that the “Vanderpump Rules” alum entering in-patient treatment for his mental health struggles last month was the right move for him and his estranged wife, Brittany Cartwright.
“Brittany and I are very close, and we speak often about a lot of things, including Jax,” Kent exclusively told The Post on Thursday. “And anytime anybody goes out and decides to get help, no matter what the reasoning, of course I’m going to stand by them 100%.”
The 33-year-old, who is approaching six years sober in October, knows what it is like to take the steps to make positive life changes.
“You know, I’m someone who reached out and got help,” Kent recalled. “Mine was for alcohol. So when you see someone do that and say, ‘I’m putting myself first, and I’m going to take the initiative,’ of course you can’t help but feel inspired by that, right?”
Taylor decided to seek treatment five months after he and Cartwright — with whom he has 3-year-old son Cruz — announced their separation after four years of marriage.
Taylor isn’t the only Bravolebrity who Kent — currently pregnant with her second child, a baby girl — weighed in on. She also Gave Them Lala’s opinion when it came to her “VPR” co-star Katie Maloney going out to dinner with “Love Island USA” star Connor Newsum.
“I don’t watch ‘Love Island,’ I’ve never watched it. But you know what? I feel like I need to give it a go because everyone is obsessed with it,” Kent gushed. “I think everyone was really down for the UK version, and I’ve heard this season is absolutely fantastic, so maybe I’ll deep dive into it.
“But I know I love to see anyone who is a single female that’s come out of a relationship, out dating and having the best time. So good for her.”
These days, the beauty brand founder is enjoying her time away from showcasing her own life on “Vanderpump Rules.”
Instead, fans can catch Kent back on television for her series “Mama’s Still Got It,” with Part 1 currently streaming on Amazon Live’s Fast Channel and Freevee.
“I’m really, really happy right now to be done,” she confessed about her time away from filming for Bravo. “And I’m feeling like the moment we picked cameras up for my new show ‘Mama’s Still Got It: Prepping for Baby,’ I was like, ‘OK, this is where I want to be.’ It felt positive. It was a peaceful environment for myself where I could bond and have productive conversations with my friends.”
Kent added: “And you know what the good news is, is we still, after baby S comes, we have episodes to film of ‘Mama’s Still Got It.’ So if you don’t catch my dating journey on ‘Vanderpump,’ we may be catching it on ‘Mama’s Still Got It.’”
And viewers may get just that, as the author has made it clear she is ready to date again after the birth of her second child.
“I think because I was so adamant Season 10, and then Season 11, we brought in the donor party it seems like I’m off men and I really — I love and appreciate men, and I can’t wait to go out and date and like, find my person,” Kent told The Post.
“I just think that I don’t see any correlation between having a baby and finding a partner. Like I think that those two things can happen separately,” noted the star.
And that’s exactly what Kent has set out to do.
“I fully intend on — I’ve said after I have baby S, I’m just, I’m going to enjoy being a mama and like all of the things, because it goes by so quickly,” the podcast host continued. “But I’m not going to put dating on the back burner anymore. Like, I’m ready after baby S comes.”
The entrepreneur is even open to adding another baby to the bunch someday.
“And you know what? Who knows, I could go out and date and be like, ‘I kind of want a third baby. Let’s, like, go another round of IUI,” Kent shared. “I just let the universe guide me these days.”
