Tom Brady sends message to NFL ‘young bucks’ with shirtless yacht throw

Tom Brady had a message for everyone in the NFL: He can still play.

And he delivered that message in the first episode of his vlog “Last Week with Tom Brady.”

As part of the nine-minute video posted on YouTube, a shirtless Brady was on a yacht in the waters of Italy and showed off the arm strength he still possessed by throwing a pass to Fanatics CEO Michael Rubin, who is riding as a passenger on a jet ski.

The former Patriots and Buccaneers quarterback hit Rubin right in the hands with a perfect-looking throw that had become all too familiar to NFL fans during Brady’s 23-season NFL career.

Earlier in the episode, Brady is seen throwing another pass to Rubin with the jet ski further away.

That was also when Brady issued his warning to the league.

“I just want to make sure those young bucks in the NFL know that if I still wanted to come out of retirement, they still got something to deal with,” Brady said in the scene.

Other shots from Brady’s time on the yacht in Italy included the seven-time Super Bowl winner doing pushups and going through a throwing drill on camera.

Brady also said that he was throwing zero days a week.

The vlog was mostly about Brady’s time at the Paris Olympics with his daughter Vivian watching some of the world’s greatest athletes compete.

NFL defenders and opposing teams can rest easy that Brady isn’t coming out of retirement at the age of 47, but he will be around the game more this year.

Brady begins work as a broadcaster for Fox’s NFL coverage this season joining Kevin Burkhardt as the network’s No. 1 broadcast team after signing a 10-year, $375 million contract with the network in 2022.

There had been some confusion over Brady’s broadcast debut after the NFL put out a misleading post over the weekend.

He will be live in the booth on Week 1 for the Cowboys-Browns game at 4:25 p.m. ET.
