We moved nine hours from family to go to Disney World every day
A couple who got engaged at Disney World moved nine hours from their families to Florida – so they can go to the theme park every day.
Haley Sisk, 30, upped sticks and moved 652 miles from Knoxville, Tennessee, to Orlando, Florida, with her husband, Austin, 30, and three children – Everly, five, Ryder, two, and Ella, 11 months – in July 2024.
Haley grew up watching Disney films and fell in love with the franchise after becoming obsessed with the Little Mermaid.
The stay-at-home mother got engaged to Austin in July 2016 at Cinderella’s Castle and said this enchanted place is a “huge part” of their story so they wanted their three children to spend their childhood there.
The couple pays $2,997-a-year for three park passes and their two youngest children go free because they are under three.
“We wanted our kids to spend a lot of their childhood in the park. Disney is a place that feels very magical and happy and brings us so much joy as a family,” Haley added.
Haley has now been to Disney World 12 times – with five of those coming since moving to Florida in July 2024.
Haley said: “Whether we go to Disney World for one hour or a day we know we will feel happiness and peace. On top of that we get to see our kids faces light up when they see their favorite characters. That is what we love about it, the fact we can make memories with our children every day.”
Haley said: “We pay for the passes and then parking is free and other things in the park are discounted. We have been every day since we moved – we are taking every chance we get.”
Haley said it was a “sacrifice” to move nine hours away from her family in Tennessee but something she has always dreamed of doing.
Austin works as a real estate agent and his company has an office in Florida so he transferred his role there.
