Viral ‘Swiftie’ holds sign at gig asking fans to call out exes — and gets hundreds of names
Swiftie’ who held up a sign at a Taylor gig asking fans to call out their exes has been sent hundreds of names – and become a viral hit.
Amy Willow, 19, went to Wembley Stadium carrying a sign saying ‘The Smallest Men Who Ever Lived.’
Swift’s song ‘The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived’ is about an ex who treated her badly – suspected to be the 1975’s Matty Healy.
Amy encouraged concertgoers to sign her clothes in Sharpie while visiting the merchandise stalls on Wednesday – the day before a show.
She ended up covered in names and after posting about the experience on TikTok – with Amy’s video reaching nearly 2 million views.
Hundreds of people were also posting names of exes they wanted to call out for bad behavior.
The next day, she attended Swift’s Eras gig at Wembley and people who had seen the TikTok approached her and added names to her campaign.
“I hadn’t come up with an outfit idea until a couple of nights before I was supposed to go,” Amy said.
“I was sat there, desperately trying to come up with something – and I thought it would be so cool to do a Small Man dress. I could have people write their “small man” names on it.
“Then I thought I would get a sign and make a massive deal out of this.
“I ended up standing on Wembley Way for hours on Wednesday, the day before the show. There were queues of people with Sharpies waiting to scribble on my dress, it was crazy.
“After three days of people adding to it, I couldn’t possibly count all the names, but it’s insane. There’s not a white space left on the dress.
“Just by glancing at it, the name Jack is everywhere on the dress.
“It’s closely followed by James and Josh, by the looks of things, and there are a lot of Toms and Matts as well.”
Amy, who shared the experience on her TikTok, @amy.willow, says that one name appeared “everywhere on the dress,” with the name Jack appearing the most in both her comments and in person.
After attending Taylor Swift’s Wembley show on Thursday night, Amy says her outfit provided the perfect way to meet new people – and she even returned to the show on Saturday
“I’ve been a long-term Swiftie – I even had a fan account when I was about 14,” she said.
“I’ve met so many great people and I’ve never had a bad experience with a Taylor Swift fan in my life.
“I made so many new friends doing this. I was sat for hours chatting to people – and the outfit was a great conversation starter!
“I posted it on TikTok on the Wednesday, and on Thursday, when I was in the general admission queue, people were coming up to me and saying they’d seen my TikTok.
“It was like a massive therapy session for all the Swifties to unite and have a joyful and cathartic experience together.
“We queued for hours on Thursday to get a good view and it was amazing – we were right by the front of the stage. The view was incredible, and the songs were amazing.”
