Applebee’s customer arrested after trying to share ‘all you can eat’ order
She was eatin’ a little too good in the neighborhood.
An Applebee’s diner got a helping of just desserts for allegedly causing an uproar when she tried to feed her entire table with a single “all you can eat” meal, police said.
Shawneesha Cobbs, 28, landed behind bars after taking her group out to the boneless buffalo wing mecca in Portage, Indiana for a night of cheap eats on Aug. 2, according to the police report viewed by The Post.
Cobbs and her clan — two other adults and several juveniles — told the police they ordered one “all you can eat” special to share with their table, the report said.
For $15.99, the meal deal includes endless boneless wings, riblets, double crunch shrimp, and fries and debuted days earlier, on July 29.
But a real food fight erupted when the bill came — and an Applebee’s manager informed the group that each person would have to pay for one serving of the deal.
Police were eventually called to the scene — with dispatchers warning cops ahead of time to expect “multiple females screaming” and “threatening people.”
Cobbs’ group found the revelation “very unprofessional” and fought tooth and nail to pay no more than $16 for their big night out, the report said.
They also argued that the menu did not specify that the deal didn’t cover the table, but the half-baked defense quickly fell apart when cops saw the words “per person” in bold letters directly beneath the “all you can eat” heading.
As police tried to calm Cobbs and the rest of her group down, the disgruntled customer turned her ire on another couple dining in the restaurant, igniting another round of screaming, officials said.
After multiple warnings from police — and attempts by a friend to shut her up — Cobbs was arrested for disorderly conduct and transported to Porter County Jail.
Now, Cobbs faces a much higher bill than she tried to weasel her way out of — the misdemeanor carries a maximum sentence of 180 days behind bars and a $1,000 fine.
Plus, her group had to pay the bill in full after realizing their mistake.
Applebee’s did not immediately respond to The Post’s request for a comment on the incident. It was not clear when Cobbs was released from jail, or when she was due back in court.
