The most popular snack at Costco revealed — and the choice may surprise you

This snack is worth the Cost-co.

Costco is often known as ground zero for affordable snacks in bulk, but which noshes reign supreme?

As a service to snackers, coupon aggregation site CouponBirds has ranked the big box store’s 50 most beloved snacks based on customer data and reviews.

The most popular were Utah Truffles’ Dark Chocolate Truffles with Sea Salt, which earned five stars in 91.99% of consumer reviews — the highest rating in the nation. The “decadent” treat costs a whopping $36.99 for two 16-ounce packs online.

Costco shoppers seemed to overwhelmingly love chocolate, as the next two snacks on this munchie Mount Rushmore also contained cocoa.

Clocking in second in the snack pack were Godiva Dark Chocolate Ganache Hearts (91.75%), followed by Nutella & Go’s Hazelnut & Cocoa Spread (90.88%) in third.

To deduce the most coveted crunchables, the site analyzed 145,533 customer ratings for every snack listed on the retail juggernaut’s website as of June 2024.

The above graphic reveals the top 10 snack items preferred by Costco customers. “It was interesting to see a nice mix of products on the list, ranging from well-known brand names to Costco’s private label offerings,” said Andy Cooper, a financial analyst and money-saving expert with CouponBirds. They then ranked the items based on which ones boasted the highest percentage of five-star reviews, making sure to scrap items with fewer than 100 reviews.

Rounding out the top five were Kirkland Signature Pecan halves (90.73%) and the G2G Peanut Butter Coconut Chocolate Protein Bar (90.57%).

The Kirkland product was ranked Costco’s most popular product in the “nuts or seeds” category, while the latter G2G bar was voted the chain’s most popular snack bar, per the survey.

Meanwhile, Lotus Biscoff Cookies are Costco’s most loved cookies (88.04%) and Cheetos Crunchy are Costco’s most loved chips (86.00%).

Interestingly, Costco devotees were not into actual potato chips as exactly zero brands of this ubiquitous treat made the cut.

Also fascinating was the fact that shoppers seemed to prefer international snack brands over homegrown American ones, per the survey.

“For instance, among Costco’s most loved cookies, Belgium’s Lotus Biscoff stands out as the top choice, surpassing America’s widely popular Oreos [in 50th place],” explained Andy Cooper, a financial analyst and money-saving expert with CouponBirds, according to Food & Wine magazine.

“It was interesting to see a nice mix of products on the list, ranging from well-known brand names to Costco’s private label offerings,” Cooper added.
