Packers quarterback Jordan Love joked that his wedding budget increased after his new four-year, $220M contract extension.
Love proposed to his girlfriend, Ronika Stone, during a romantic trip to Italy, as seen in photos the couple shared on Instagram in June.
The former first-round pick revealed their wedding date while discussing their plans for the big day on the “Scoop City” podcast during a recent practice.
“June 22,” Love told The Athletic’s Dianna Russini and Chase Daniel.
“She’s handling all of that,” Love said, referring to Stone overseeing the wedding planning and looking at venues. “I was in [training] camp, so you know, there’s not much time.”
Love laughed when Russini asked if his wedding budget has changed after he became the highest-paid player in the NFL.
His new deal — which keeps him tied to Green Bay through 2028— included a $75 million signing bonus, according to NFL Network.
“That’s a great question. … It does [change],” the 25-year-old said.
Love got down on one knee outside of Castello di Celsa, a castle from the 13th century in the heart of Tuscany.
Love and Stone, who is a professional volleyball player with the San Diego Mojo, have been together since at least September 2020, according to her Instagram account.
He went public with their relationship on social media in early 2021.
Stone is an Oregon volleyball alum.
The couple’s trip to Italy came after Love attended the Packers’ mandatory minicamp, which took place from June 11-13 in Green Bay.
The Packers open the 2024 NFL season against the Eagles in Brazil on Sept. 6.
