Mike White has witty response about teaming with Bills player whose vicious hit broke ribs with Jets

Mike White knows a thing or two about the Bills and a thing or two about one Bill in particular.

The quarterback is all too familiar with linebacker Matt Milano after one particular game when White was the signal caller for the Jets and they had been in Buffalo for a December matchup.

In that game, Milano and defensive tackle Ed Oliver laid a number of hard hits on White which included a tackle that was so hard that it looked like it was something out of a video game.

Now, that White is teammates with them, he had one request.

“I just can’t be locker room mates with Matt Milano,” White jokingly told reporters.

The Bills quarterback also commented about the first thing he would do when he steps foot at Highmark Stadium.

“When I go to Highmark [Stadium] I’m sure there’s going to be a piece of my rib on the 30-yard line,” White said referencing the hit.

Milano is currently out indefinitely with a torn biceps.

White said that Oliver had apologized to him as well.

The one hit during that 2022 game against the Bills sent White to a local hospital for precautionary reasons.

“We’ve obviously gone against Mike,” general manager Brandon Beane said according to Bills Wire. “I think everyone in here is very familiar with his career, all the time in the AFC East. The thing I have always liked about Mike and respected about him was whether he started the game or came into the game, he came in guns a blazing. No fear.”

White played his first two NFL seasons with the Jets and spent the 2023 season with the Dolphins.

In 14 career NFL games, White completed 196 passes for 2,219 yards for nine touchdowns.

White signed with the Bills practice squad last week.
