‘Hawk Tuah Girl’ Haliey Welch will give ‘relationship pointers’ in new podcast ‘Talk Tuah’
Haliey Welch is stepping back in front of the mic.
The 22-year-old known as “Hawk Tuah Girl” announced in a YouTube video on Tuesday that she will host the podcast “Talk Tuah,” with her first episode airing Tuesday, Sept. 10.
“Talk Tuah” is a part of the Betr banner, the media company founded by Jake Paul, and will be a weekly podcast showcasing a mix of different personalities and interviews.
Tuesday’s episode will feature comedian Whitney Cummings, while the later lineup includes TikToker Josh Richards and Paul, 27. Welch will also have a hand in Betr Media’s social media content.
“I’m so thankful to have my own podcast where you’ll discover the real Haliey Welch. I’m delighted to join the progressive team at Betr who fully gets me,” Welch said in a social media promo Tuesday.
“My show will have a little of everything – great guests, laughs, relationship pointers, and, of course, some down home southern charm,” she added.
The sports media and mobile betting company was founded by Paul and Joey Levy in 2022 and includes a long list of programming. The shows are “BS w/ Jake Paul,” “Caps Off” from co-hosts Adam Tabatchnick and Jack Parodi, “Twin Talk with Hanna and Haley Cavinder,” and “Nickals and Dimes” from MMA athlete Bo Nickal.
“This is a major addition to the Betr Media family as we continue to strategically differentiate ourselves in the market,” said the head of media for Betr, Mike Denevi, in a statement on Wednesday. “Haliey Welch is a bona fide superstar, and her charisma, unique perspective and innate connection with her audience make her the perfect fit for our platform.”
Denevi added, “‘Talk Tuah’ will bring a fresh and dynamic voice to our content lineup, and we can’t wait for our audience and brand sponsors to connect with Haliey in an authentic way that embodies the ethos of Betr Media as a whole.”
The news comes nearly a month after Welch threw out the Met’s first pitch before the team played the Athletics at Citi Field. Her appearance caused some serious backlash, which she later addressed.
“So I guess some of the baseball community wasn’t too happy to see me yesterday,” Welch wrote, adding a sheepish grin emoji, on August 16. “The main reason I went to the game was to spread awareness and donate to America’s vet dogs which pairs dogs with war veterans for a forever home. Join me in donating to this amazing charity. I miss ya already Buddy,” Welch said, referring to the dog that accompanied her to the game.
Welch rose to fame after her X-rated clip from an interview in Nashville propelled her to viral fame in June. A month later, the social media star did her first sit-down interview since the segment aired.
Speaking with Barstool Sports’ Brianna Lapaglia on the “Plan Bri Uncut” podcast, Welch shut down rumors — including that she isn’t a teacher and her dad is “the farthest thing” from a preacher.
The TikTok sensation clarified that she worked at a spring factory in her small Tennessee hometown and was getting ready for the graveyard shift at 2 a.m. when she saw her video go viral.
Welch said she deleted her social media accounts before the clip, in which she famously shared a favorite bedroom technique, hit the internet.
However, she also told Lapaglia, 25, that she nearly “s–t a brick” when she learned of her internet fame.
Crediting her extraverted personality for her honest response, Welch added, “I could talk to a brick wall if you really let me.”
