KeKe Jabbar’s cause of death has been revealed a little over two months after her unexpected passing.
The star of OWN’s “Love & Marriage: Huntsville” passed away from carbon monoxide poisoning, according to TMZ.
The outlet obtained a copy of the autopsy report from the medical examiner overseeing the case in Alabama.
The report states that Jabbar had 64% carboxyhemoglobin in her blood.
Normal carboxyhemoglobin levels are under 2% for non-smokers and below 5% for smokers.
Though carbon monoxide poisoning was the main cause of death, a toxicology report revealed that Jabbar also had oxycodone and oxymorphone at the time of her passing.
Jabbar died in July at the age of 42. She is survived by her husband, Ameen Jabbar, her three children and her parents.
Her death was announced by blogger Marcella Speaks on Tuesday, July 2.
“It is with extreme sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Keke. She passed away peacefully at home surrounded by love,” Speaks said, reading a statement on behalf of Jabbar’s family during a YouTube livestream.
“She was a mom, a sister, and a great friend full of life, love and laughter,” the statement added. “She will be sorely missed and at this time, we are asking for respect and privacy in our moment of grief while we process this great loss. The Jabbar Family and the Scott Family.”
Jabbar passed away “peacefully at home surrounded in love,” Speaks said.
“Love & Marriage: Huntsville” follows three Huntsville, Ala., couples who invest in real estate. They are also longtime friends and avid socialites with strong points of view, according to the show synopsis.
The couples help Huntsville grow with their real estate venture, the Comeback Group, as they strive to face the realities of love and marriage while striving for success.
The series has proven a hit for “OWN,” with a total of 8 seasons to date.
Jabbar had not been active on social media since May.
In a May 23 Instagram post, she shared a series of photos from her eldest son Amaree’s high school graduation.
“My first born graduated from high school yesterday and it was such an emotional experience,” she wrote. “I didn’t expect 18 years to go by this fast! We’re so proud of you Amaree. Go shine like the star you are!!!”
Aside from being a reality TV star, Jabbar was also a writer, editor and professor.
