A handsome California residence that once belonged to the legendary basketball player Kareem Abdul-Jabbar has listed for $2.99 million, The Post has learned.
The Los Angeles County property, which Abdul-Jabbar called home from 2011 to 2021, has a number of customizations to better fit the now-77-year-old former Los Angeles Laker.
“This special property offers custom features for his 7’ 2” frame including a large spa tub, shower, higher counters and door frames,” Compass agent James Allan, who holds the listing, told The Post.
The sports legend purchased the residence in 2011 for $1.52 million. In 2016, according to a Realtor.com report, he aimed to fetch $2.99 million for it. Ultimately, according to Zillow, it sold for $2.4 million in 2021. The owner and current seller couldn’t immediately be identified.
During his 20-season NBA career, Abdul-Jabbar became a 19-time NBA All-Star, a 15-time All-NBA Team member and generally gained a reputation for being one of the greatest basketball players of all time.
In 2016, then President Barack Obama awarded him the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
The four-bedroom, three-bathroom compound is one of 12 homes in a gated complex called Harbor Crossing Lane.
The exclusive Marina del Rey community is located across from a Ritz-Carlton and the California Yacht Club.
This particular house, with four bedrooms, has more than 3,200 square feet of living space on an 8,600-plus-square-foot lot.
The double-door entryway leads to a layout including a large living room, a dining room, and an island- and breakfast-corner equipped kitchen — off of which, through sliding doors, is a patio.
The second floor has wood floors throughout and contains the bedrooms, including the primary suite. That has its own fireplace, a walk-closet and a balcony with marina views and an ensuite bath containing dual vanities, a separate steam shower and a soaking tub.
The third floor has an additional den space, off of which is another patio.
Also at the property is a two-car garage (and additional parking for up to four more cars), a whole-house water filtration system, automatic lighting and a remote-access camera security system.
