Yankees revel in World Series win in The Bronx that was 15 years in the making
The Bronx was buzzing.
It had been 15 years since Yankees fans were able to celebrate a World Series game victory, but that all changed on Tuesday as the Bronx Bombers were able to stave off elimination with an 11-4 win over the Dodgers in Game 4.
In a video captured by The Post, one group of fans could be seen dancing and singing along to Frank Sinatra’s classic hit “New York, New York” on the inner concourse as it blared over the Yankee Stadium sound system triumphantly.
Fans could be heard and seen singing along to the adopted Yankees anthem on the outer concourse as they made their way out of the venue.
One fan could be seen holding up a sign that read: “2004-3 REMEMBER? It’s our time.”
Footage posted by YES Network showed fans cheering out in the bleachers and one fan tossing up ripped paper like it was confetti to celebrate the win.
The victory was the first World Series win at Yankee Stadium since the Bombers defeated the Phillies on Nov. 4, 2009.
Yankees fans had plenty to celebrate as the Yanks’ bats finally came alive, which included a grand slam by Anthony Volpe in the bottom of the third inning.

“Yeah, after Volpe’s homer or his grand slam, like the place was shaking, I felt the ground literally shaking,” Austin Wells said afterward about the fans. “These fans, they expect wins, and when you have a big home run like that to kind of spark the team like Volpe did, he got some well-deserved praise there. So that was awesome.”

The Yankees are attempting to do something no team has done in the World Series, and that’s climb out of an 0-3 hole.
Game 5 — the final Yankees home game of the year — is slated for Wednesday back in The Bronx at 8:08 p.m.
