2-year-old boy found locked inside cage littered with feces, urine at Kentucky home: police
Five Kentucky residents are behind bars for allegedly imprisoning a 2-year-old boy inside a caged area littered with feces and urine in their home, according to police.
Authorities found the naked toddler trapped behind a padlocked metal and wooden enclosure inside the Carrollton home after receiving a tip of a possible caged child, the Carrollton Police Department said in a news release.
The room in which the unhinged suspects allegedly kept the boy was covered with urine and feces, according to a criminal complaint obtained by McClatchy News.
Two additional children were removed from the home in the 700 block of 7th Street by the Cabinet for Health and Family Services following the disturbing discovery, police said.
Police did not specify the relationships between the adults and children.
Brenda Chilton, 71, William Mahoney, 72, Codey Johnson, 29, Tammy Simmons, 52, and Shelby Turocy, 28, were arrested and charged with criminal abuse and wanton endangerment.
Turocy is also facing charges for possession of methamphetamine, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.
The deranged suspects are being held at the Carroll County Detention Center as police continue their investigation.
