Rutgers touted freshman Ace Bailey to miss season opener in stunner
So much for the highly anticipated debut of Rutgers’ two star freshmen.
One of them, Ace Bailey, will miss Wednesday night’s opener against Wagner with a wrist injury, the school announced.
The 6-foot-10 Bailey, a projected top-three NBA Draft pick, suffered the injury in practice on Monday and is day-to-day, Rutgers said.
The other acclaimed freshman, Dylan Harper, will make his anticipated debut at Jersey Mike’s Arena.
Bailey is a big-time shotmaker with NBA-size on the wing.
Some scouts believe he has the best chance to unseat Duke phenom Cooper Flagg as the No. 1 pick in the next draft.
But now, he will start the season on the sideline.
