Bryce Harper has a cheerful supporter in his wife, Kayla.
Along with a number of other wives and girlfriends of Phillies players, Kayla jubilantly jumped up and down after Philadelphia defeated San Diego for the right to face the Houston Astros in the 2022 World Series.
Kayla later added, on Instagram, that she “blacked out” amid the joyous celebration.
High school loves
High school sweethearts from Las Vegas, the Harpers have been married since 2016. They share a son, 3-year-old Krew, and a daughter, Brooklyn, who is 2. The tots wore adorable matching jackets on the field after one of the Phillies’ postseason victories.
Kayla can play with the best of them
Kayla Harper played Division I soccer at BYU and Ohio State after a high school career in which set the Nevada state record for career assists, led her team to a state championship title and was a national All-American.
Getting back together
The Harpers briefly broke off their 2014 engagement in 2015. They reconciled and got re-engaged in 2016.
She wants hecklers to keep it clean
In 2019, after Bryce Harper left the Nationals for the NL East rival Phillies on a 13-year deal worth $330 million, the superstar outfielder was heckled by fans of his former team in a manner that was so severe that he lamented that it crossed the line.
Kayla came to her husband’s defense, calling the heckling fans “classless.”
“When you bring his son or family into it, yes you’re crossing a line. Stick to your overused overrated and Harper sucks chants if you’re really that loser that goes to a game to heckle someone,” she tweeted at the time. “Phillies fans might boo him but they don’t bring his 4 week old son into it. Classless.”
Additionally that year, Kayla called out another woman for attempting to slide into her husband’s direct messages on Instagram.
“If you’re going to try & go after a married man the least you could do is be smart enough to message his Instagram account and not his wife’s,” Kayla wrote at the time.
