Christina Hall brutally mocks estranged husband Josh’s ‘hope’ message: Divorce timeline
They’re flipping out on each other.
Christina Hall (née Haack) and Josh Hall’s split has turned ugly.
The former couple filed for divorce from each other in July 2024 after less than three years of marriage. They’ve since been at odds over their finances and the true nature of their breakup.
Haack, who was previously married to Tarek El Moussa and Ant Anstead, blasted Hall on Instagram, calling him an “insecure man with a large ego.”
It doesn’t seem like the drama between the exes is going to cool off anytime soon.
Here’s a full timeline of their messy divorce.
July 15: Christina and Josh file for divorce
Haack, 41, and Hall, 43, filed for divorce from each other on July 15. The news broke the following day.
Hall filed his paperwork in Orange County, California. He cited irreconcilable differences and listed July 8 as the separation date. He also requested spousal support.
Furthermore, Hall said he wants their shared Newport Beach, Calif. house and the rights to the HGTV-Discovery Network shows that the exes produced together during their marriage to be split equally.
In her divorce filing, Haack listed their date of separation as July 7.
The “Christina in the Country” star requested that Hall pay her attorney fees and asked a judge to terminate the possibility of spousal support for her ex.
July 17: Christina ditches her wedding ring
One day after the divorce news broke, Haack was seen without her wedding ring on as she walked to Gen Foot Spa in Costa Mesa, Calif.
It was also confirmed that Hall removed Haack and her children from his Instagram bio.
Haack shares daughter Taylor, 13, and sons Brayden, 8, with El Moussa, 42, and son Hudson, 4, with Anstead, 45.
July 23: Christina’s ex-husband speaks out about her divorce
El Moussa addressed Haack’s third divorce in an interview with E! News published July 23.
“Life’s tough, s – – t happens,” the reality star said. “We got one shot at life, and we gotta do what’s best for us, so whatever she needs, we’re here to help.”
In the same interview, El Moussa’s wife, Heather Rae El Moussa (née Young), confirmed Hall was dropped from the upcoming HGTV competition series “The Flip Off.”
The show, expected to premiere in 2025, was supposed to feature the Halls competing against the El Moussas. An Us Weekly source also confirmed Hall won’t appear on the show anymore.
July 24: Christina accuses Josh of taking her money
In legal documents obtained by Entertainment Tonight on July 24, Haack accused her ex of taking $35,000 of her money and transferring it into his personal bank account.
She claimed he took the funds from her separate property rental income, by allegedly lying to her property manager. Haack demanded that Hall give the money back to her.
Haack also reportedly claimed Hall’s attorney sent her a letter demanding she “preserve electronic evidence without it being automatically deleted.” So, Haack said she unplugged the cameras in the former couple’s residence, but Hall allegedly has plugged them back in every time he comes home.
She said that “would allow him to keep me and my children under surveillance. I object to him having that access into my home.”
In the same documents, Haack reportedly said her spousal support and attorney fee payments to Hall should be “straightforward” and “minimal.”
July 25: Christina breaks her silence
Haack addressed her split from Hall for the first time on her Instagram Story.
“I have worked my ass off to build this life for myself and my children and anyone who would try and take what they do not deserve/what they did NOT work for should be ashamed,” she began her July 25 statement.
“An insecure man with a large ego can sure try and derail you,” she added about Hall.
“For those that aren’t aware … divorces do not happen overnight … & there is always a breaking point. This one is personal,” Haack said.
July 26: Sources say Josh was surprised by the split
Sources close to Hall told TMZ he was “blindsided” by the end of his marriage.
They claimed Haack stopped speaking to Hall after a fight and would only speak to him through an attorney. Hall allegedly hired marriage counsel when he realized they were heading towards a split.
The sources further claimed Hall was “dedicated” to Haack and her kids. They said he’s been spending most of his time in Nashville since the breakup.
July 26: Christina responds to Josh
Haack released a statement on her IG Stories following the claims from Hall’s sources.
“Huh — I didn’t block him — and i didn’t see any missed calls or texts the next day. Which happened to be my birthday. Strange – no flowers, no cards, no messages like, ‘Hope you have a nice birthday,’ ” she wrote.
“Hmm… something’s not adding up here. But I’m down to keep playing ‘Christina Vs. The Victim’ as I love this game,” she added.
August 1: Christina takes subtle jab at Josh
The HGTV star responded to a fan’s bold suggestion on a July 20 post, which read, “How awesome would it be to have Ant replace Josh on the Flip Off? Ratings would go through the roof. If it happens, I need some credit. Lol.”
Christina responded, “LOL that would be a genius ‘ratings’ idea just sayin.”
However, she later clarified that she has no desire to bring more exes onto the project.
“It would be good for ratings, but I can’t work with any more exes,” she told Backgrid on Wednesday, according to People. “I already work with Tarek.”
She then teased, “Maybe season two.”
August 2: Christina brutally mocks Josh’s “hope” message
Christina slammed Josh’s message of “hope” that he shared on his Instagram Story. She reshared the image and wrote, “I ‘HOPE’ she pays me millions more than what she’s already offered me.”
