I swore I’d never purchase a white couch.
I have a furry gray dog who seemingly sheds through every season of the year and an 11-month-old daughter whose current favorite pastimes involve throwing and spilling whatever she can get her hands on. A modern, stylish white sofa was just never in the cards for me.
That is until I went against every instinct and impulsively ordered this lovely beige sectional from Amazon. I was in the third week of intense pre-couch purchase research — measuring every centimeter of my tiny apartment space, reading about the best baby-proof furniture, investigating whether or not to purchase a sleeper sofa, and scorning the internet for deals on trendy cloud couches. The bottom line: I could never justify spending over a thousand dollars on a couch.
At some point in my shopping exploration, I stumbled across this $750 left-hand-facing chaise lounger on Amazon. I read some glistening reviews, many of which pointed out that delivery was fast, the installation was painless, and the comfort level was unmatched.
“It’s firm and you can tell it won’t start sagging,” one reviewer pointed out. “The absolute best couch I have owned. Including $5000 plus coaches. The aesthetics, feel, look I just love it,” another remarked. Others wished they could give it ten out of five starts.
I browsed a few photos uploaded by real customers and decided to succumb to my desires. I bought it. Read on for my in-depth review of the ‘miracle couch.’

Review
My dream couch arrived in two boxes about a week after ordering it. As reviews suggested, the setup was seamless. I put it together with the help of my doorman, in less than fifteen minutes. The contemporary metal legs popped right into place. The cushions were not vacuum-sealed, so there was no need to wait for everything to fluff up. No complaints there.
In terms of style, this sectional easily surpasses all of my previous couches. I purchased the left-hand facing, L-shaped model to flatter the feng shui of my compact living room — and it did just that. The size is just right, the smooth linen has a refreshing, expensive look to it, and the pillows and cushions stay perfectly puffed. Five months in, and there’s still no evidence of wrinkling.
When it comes to comfort, I prefer a slightly firmer couch. This one fits the mark. The high-density sponge foam molds to your body, relieving pressure, without losing shape. Most people under 5’6 can easily enjoy a snooze while sprawled out on either end. Three to four people can sit comfortably for movie night. I also have sensitive skin, but the linen fabric on this couch has never irritated it, the material is soft and has a slight cooling effect.
From the beginning of my couch-hunting days, my single concern was whether any type of couch could survive the inevitable spills, stains, scratches, and shedding that come with my roommates (baby and dog). This couch has not only survived but remained completely unscathed. The 100% linen fabric miraculously wipes clean instantly with a damp cloth. Somehow my dog’s thick gray fur doesn’t seem to be attracted to the fabric, because I rarely see a trace of hair. Occasionally, I use a lint roller to give it a refresh.
The one problem is that it’s difficult for me to come up with a single flaw.
Pros:
- Spills and stains wipe clean easily with water
- Fabric does not seem to attract dog hair
- Pillows and seats stay quite fluffed and don’t seem to wrinkle easily
- Attractive, modern design
- Multiple models available
- Can be assembled in under 20 minutes
Cons:
- Only available in one color (beige)
- This couch may be too small for taller people to sleep on comfortably
The bottom line
I’ve sat on many couches in my life, spun through many pages of Architectural Digest, and drooled while trekking through each level of Restoration Hardware. But, honestly, I still have yet to meet any piece of furniture that has impressed me as much as this under $700 Amazon find — it dramatically brightens up our small space, sits multiple people comfortably, and cleans up in seconds.
How we tested
I purchased this couch in November 2023, looking for a couch that met my standards: comfort, style, cleanliness, and overall value. Over the last five months, it’s endured a good amount of use. We’ve had guests sleep on it, ate dinner atop it, and failed many times to keep the dog from curling up on the chaise. Through all this living, the couches endured a few spills (coffee included), been sprinkled with crumbs, and narrowly evaded a diaper-changing catastrophe. I’ve used lint rollers, damp clothes, and a vacuum cleaner to keep it in pristine condition, and so far, we’ve run into no issues.
To put it simply, this couch has been put through the ultimate test of survival.
